Playing The Game
(Ywis)

PLAYING THE GAME

It isn’t easy wanting to change the world at fourteen,
nor fighting for people and countries you’ve never seen.
You think it is strange that grown-ups never notice the wrong being done.
And you’ll take every change to tell them how this old world should be run.
The world around you is so cruel, though you can’t grasp the real scene.
At least your friends share your ideals; you fight the truth as a team.
Your feelings are constantly confused, still you love life just the same
‘cause you know that things will change and you will beat them and their game.

You better hang on to your dreams…you better hang on…

It isn’t easy staying the same after your teens
and be accepted in your job when you are wearing bluejeans.
You don’t think it’s strange that people don’t want to see the wrong being done.
But now you are not so sure about how this old world should be run.
The world around you is so cruel; you know it’s worse the real scene.
You don’t have too many friends and you don't belong to a team.
Now you seldom get confused and you love life just the same.
You can’t be sure if things will change; and now you’re playing in their game.

You better hang on to your dreams…you better hang on…

It isn’t easy being youself when you’re wearing blue jeans.
You don’t care about people and countries you’ve never seen.
You think it’s strange that youngsters even try to fight the wrong being done
and if you get the change you tell them; this is the way the world should be run.
The world around you is so cruel, but you don’t want to see that scene.
You share society’s ideals and you play on the first team.
Now you never get confused and your lives are the same.
And you don’t care if things will change, ‘cause you’ll never win this game.

You better hang on to your dreams... you better hang on…
