Fighting Fear
(Ywis)

FIGHTING FEAR

In the eastern world they ended up fighting a dirty endless war.
And all the boys they gave their best until they could fight no more.
They all were young and thought they were restoring order and the law.
But in fact they were tools who served commerce, nothing more.

Fear of fighting, feeling cold and very wet.
Fear of fighting, it’s been so long since they touched a bed.
Fear of fighting, feeling strange inside their heads.
No more fear, they’re dead!

Still no one cares about these boys: they’re pawns in a game of chess.
In the army you’re a number and you know, numbers don’t impress.
To politicians life’s a toy because they’re safe behind their desks.
They always keep a distance and never really see the mess.

Fear of fighting, feeling cold and very wet.
Fear of fighting, it’s been so long since they touched a bed.
Fear of fighting, feeling strange inside their heads.
No more fear, they’re dead!
