More post-Ywis music back to Ywis or back to homepage

After I left 'Ywis' and met Ruud Stoker in 'S.A.D.'
I worked on some songs together with Rinus and
Ruud. The recordings were made on 8-track.

Recorded and arranged by Rinus.

Back On My Feet Again
(1985)
(Music: J. Driessen & R. Stoker / Lyrics: Sylvia van Heck)
Recorded by Julian, guitar arrangements by Rinus.

Both songs performed by:
Rinus Hollenberg - guitars/add. keyboards/backing vocals

CHANGE

You don’t believe in what you’re doing,
your motivation has long gone.
You try to swith off when you enter
and when you’re home you switch back on.
You sit there passionless awaiting
the things to come, but then they don’t.
But there’s no one who makes an offer.
You must help yourself, but then you won’t.

There’s only one: that’s you.

You are incapable of action
and ‘though you are not satisfied.
you just don’t think of ever changing:
you are completely passified.
Now after years of only waiting
you must have come to understand
that you can change your situation
only yourself, now make amends.

There’s only one: that’s you.

BACK ON MY FEET AGAIN

It got me down so long I can’t remember when
I had high hopes for it to work.

But now I’m back on my feet again.
Never more will I get down.

It got me down so quick I couldn’t quite believe
how I transformed into a jerk.

But now I’m back on my feet again.
Never more will I get down.

But I grew up seeing injustice in this world
this gloomy dessert of grey suits.

But now I’m back on my feet again.
Never more will I get down.
Now I’m back on my feet again.
Never more will I get down.
